Helen Egli, 87, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at her residence. Helen was born in Elizabethton to the late Dallas and Carrie Combs Howard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Dean Egli; a daughter, Donna Egli; two sisters, Frances Howard and Pauline Church; and a brother, Herman Howard.
Helen was a homemaker and loved being at home in the Stoney Creek Community. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She loved to garden, quilt, crochet and most of all, spend time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Deanna Mullican and husband Stephen of Rock Island, Tenn., and Dani Moreland and husband Todd of Jonesborough; two grandchildren, Matthew Taylor and wife Rachelle of Gray and Kristen Banks and Nick of Greeneville; a great-grandchild, Karlee; and two brothers, Robert Howard and wife Carol of Kannapolis, N.C., and Lynn Howard and wife Ruby of Hernondo, Miss. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to especially thank Megan, Chris and Jerry of Amedysis Hospice for the exceptional love and care shown to Helen during her illness.
A committal and entombment service to celebrate the life of Helen Egli will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, November 23, at Happy Valley Memorial Park, Mausoleum of Peace, with Reverend Chris Hughes and Reverend Travis Tyler officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, at 10:15 a.m. Monday to go in procession. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Grace Baptist Church, 1114 Broad Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
