Where there’s a Will, there’s a way.
Will Sexton kept the Wildcats off guard driving to the basket and when
he was covered he passed the ball in the corner to Joe Slagle who could
drain the three.
Sexton and Slagle teamed up for 44 points, Sexton scoring 25 of them,
while Slagle nailed five three’s.
The Rangers full-court press forced turnovers as Unaka scored 28
points in the opening quarter, Michael Heath leading the way with six
points.
The Wildcats scored 15 behind the shooting of Laxton Fuller.
Landon Ramsey would hit a shot as the horn sounded to bring his total to
five in the first.
Sexton put up 13 points in the second period leading Unaka to a 21-point
quarter and a 49-33 lead at the half.
Ryan Sexton came off the bench to score seven points and hit a shot to
end the second period.
In the third Slagle connected on three of his long range shots with Unaka once
again scoring over 20 in the quarter.
Devin Ramsey and Joe-z Blamo forced turnovers and stole the ball
with their speed and double-teaming the ball.
Unaka would outscore Kachea 19-18 in the fourth for a 90-62 win.
