Anytime a team steps on the court against the Hampton Lady JV Bulldogs, they can count on head coach Chelsey Weddles playing inside your short defense with her team.
After all, it was what she was taught when she played for Coach Leon Tolley at Hampton during her playing days.
Once again that strategy paid dividends as the Lady ‘Dogs rolled to a 58-36 victory over the Happy Valley Lady JV Warriors on Warrior Hill Monday evening.
Hampton built a 30-23 lead at the intermission and kept the pressure up in the second half to maintain the upper hand throughout.
Lacy Smith led the charge offensively for Hampton by pumping in 13 points. She was followed closely by Rylie McClain who dumped in 10 points in the contest.
Macy Henry also had a strong game for the Lady ‘Dogs collecting nine points while seven each were recorded by Taylor Berry and Ryleigh Nickles.
Others contributing to the Hampton win included Madi McClain (6), Linsey Jenkins (2), Bre Davis (2), and Sara Carpenter (2).
For Coach Dana Hill’s JV Lady Warriors, Marcida Moore totaled 13 points in a losing cause while Gabby Wood also hit double figures with 10 points.
Kadie Bailey and Holly Moore scored seven and six points respectively.
