To the Editor:
My mother would never wear a seat belt until the requirement became a law. We tried to convince her, but she wouldn’t wear it.
Once it was mandated by state law, she always remembered to do the safe thing and wear the belt. I still read about car wrecks and always look to see if victims had on seat belts.
This reminds me of Tennessee now. If the top person, Gov. Lee, would mandate wearing a mask, it would make a difference and save lives and a lot of money. If not the lives, perhaps the Governor cares about the huge amount of money being spent with treatments for the virus. I hope Gov. Lee will become a responsible leader for Tennessee and make masks a mandate.
