An announcement was made on Friday by Chris Berry, Principal of T.A. Dugger Jr. High, that the school would be on a virtual schedule for traditional students the week of January 11, 2021, through January 15, 2021.
The move to virtual learning was due to staffing issues. It does not impact students who are on the Distance Learning Track nor the students at any of the elementary schools or Elizabethton High School.
For the week, all TAD students will be virtual learners and will follow their normal school day schedule. Students will be expected to connect with their teacher during their usual class time.
Teachers will take attendance via visual, verbal, or written communication during the school day.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is on January 18 so there will be no school.
For students in Cohort A at T.A. Dugger, the return to school in-person day will be on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Cohort B will return to school in-person on Thursday, Jan. 21.
Free meal pickup for T.A. Dugger students will be moved to Elizabethton High School from 9:45 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The change once again only applies to students at T.A. Dugger Junior High. All other Elizabethton City Elementary and Elizabethton High School students will remain on the same Hybrid Schedule currently in place.
Information will be published on the ECS social media pages as well as the system web page at www.ecschools.net.
The situation will continue to be monitored daily and further updates will be provided if other changes become necessary.
