Grace Bradshaw Meserole, 80, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 25, 2021, from Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Grace was born in Elizabethton to the late Ellis K. Bradshaw and Arlene Christine Stafford Bradshaw Laws. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Sam” Meserole; a brother, M.L. Laws, and an infant brother, Ronnie Laws; a grandson, Benjamin Bower; and her stepfather, Paul Laws.
Grace retired from Sears as a customer service representative and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hickory, N.C., where she was a member of the over 60 Women’s Prayer Group. Grace loved reading, coloring, going out to eat with friends and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her many memories include her six children, Kathryn Smith and husband Gary of Erwin, Leo Bower of Hickory, N.C., Paul Bower and wife Pili of San Antonio, Texas, Mark Bower and wife Amy of Johnson City, Rachel Kerensky and husband Rick of Gainesville, Fla., and Steve Bower and wife Dena of Powell, Tenn.; four sisters, Brenda Scalf of Watauga, Joy Kennedy of Elizabethton, Karen Cable of Hampton and Gloria Good of Hickory, N.C.; one brother, Harvey Laws of Elizabethton; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Grace Meserole will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 31, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Ken Bewley officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1 until 2:30 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow in the Scalf Cemetery (Smalling Road, Watauga.) Active pallbearers will be Leo Bower, Paul Bower, Mark Bower, Stephen Bower, Alex Bower, Seth Bower and Jason Grant. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ivy Hall Nursing Home for the loved care given to Mrs. Meserole during her illness.
