The Carter County Health Department will host a first dose Pfizer vaccine event Monday, March 29, and Wednesday, March 31, at the Great Lakes Workforce Development Facility, 386 Highway 91.
The vaccine event is for anyone 16 years or older. Vaccines will be given on a first come, first serve basis. No registration is needed.
The Monday event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and the March 31 event will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. or while supplies last.
“We urge everyone that has not received a COVID-19 vaccine to attend one of these events and get a shot,” said Caroline Hurt, Director of the Carter County Health Dept. “The more people in Carter County who choose to get their vaccinations, the sooner our community can return to normal day-to-day activities.”
Hurt reminds all residents that in addition to vaccinations, wearing a face mask, maintaining social distance, and getting tested when exposed or sick are critical to controlling the pandemic.
Also, a COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be held today, March 27, at the Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City and Thursday, April 1, at the Greene Valley Development Center in Greeneville.
Registration is required for both the clinics at Freedom Hall and Greene Valley Development Center. For help in scheduling your vaccination call the Northeast Regional Registration Line at (423) 979-4689. The Registration Line is staffed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
