Mary Emma Edens Bowers, 93, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 29, 2021. She was born in Elizabethton and was the daughter of the late Walter and Claudia Edens.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Bowers, and her siblings, Pauline Hodge, Ethel Hollars, Clara Fox, Clyde Edens, Fred Edens, Tom Edens and Buck Edens.
Those left to cherish Mary’s memory include her daughter, Debra Pierce and her husband Roger; nephews, Bill Hodge, Rick Bowers and Ken Goforth; niece, Claudia; and several other nieces and nephews.
Mary’s family would like to offer a special thank you to the entire staff at Amedysis Hospice and Ivy Hall Nursing Home for the loving care provided during her stay there.
The family will greet friends to share memories on Thursday, April 1, from 11 a.m. until a Celebration of Mary’s life at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Michael Klaus, minister, officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
