Motorists traveling on SR37-19E in Roan Mountain should be aware of paving operations that will have an impact on traffic in the area near the Tiger Creek Road intersection. Motorists are urged to drive with caution as paving operations began Monday on that stretch of road. A TDOT spokesman said the Tiger Creek Road will be closed to traffic as crews are working near its intersection with Highway 19-E. Detour signage is in place to direct motorists around the work zone. In addition, one southbound lane of Highway 19E will be closed. Northbound and southbound traffic will be alternately stopped so that traffic can flow through the single open lane at the construction site. The spokesman said the Tiger Creek Road is expected to be re-opened on or before April 23 and all southbound lanes of Highway 19E are expected to reopen by April 30. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution in that area as workers will be present. A log truck reportedly wrecked in that area and ran off the road Monday.
