Wade Vaughn Whitehead, 70, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021, at Bristol Regional Hospital.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Floyd and Bernice Jones Whitehead.
Wade was a graduate of Hampton High School. He served in the United States Army. Wade was retired as a carpet installer. He was a member of the Elizabethton Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky; a brother, Ronda Whitehead; and two sisters, Dorothy Smith and Sandra Wandell.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ellen Jones Whitehead; two sons, Jason (Christal) Whitehead and Joshua Whitehead; five grandchildren, Madison Whitehead, Eli Whitehead, Sadie Whitehead, Shelby (Matthew) Cagle and Maddison Sheets; a sister, Carolyn (Norman) Perry; several nieces and nephews; and his very special friend, Rick Hatley.
The graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 8, in the Bennett Cemetery, Dennis Cove, with Minister Todd Houston officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 2:20 p.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
