On April 27, 2021, Donald Puckett entered rest into heaven. He was born February 11, 1961. He was the son of the late Bill and Helen Puckett.
Donald had three children, Ashley Harding and husband Michael, DJ Puckett and girlfriend Jessica Smithpeters, and Brittany Tackett and husband Anthony; his children’s mother, Brenda Presnell; five grandsons, whom he cherished spending time with, Logan Harding, Jordan Tackett, Anthony “AA” Tackett, Aidan Tackett and Josiah Smithpeters. Donald had two sisters and two brothers left to cherish his memories, twin brother Ronald Puckett of Chuckey and brother Afton Puckett, and sisters, Helen Loveless and Betty Puckett, all of Elizabethton.
He was preceded in death by three half-sisters, Dorothy Church, Faye Presnell and Elsie Presnell.
Donald was a dedicated truck driver for 35 years which was his passion in life. He enjoyed spending time with family, having get togethers, spending time with his children and family, especially his grandsons, whom he cherished. There wasn’t nothing like those grandsons to him — they were his pride. He had several special friends, nieces and nephews also left to cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dean Presnell officiating. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Logan Harding, Michael Harding, Robert Presnell, Billy Harold Presnell, Tony Whitehead and Mason Whitehead. Honorary pallbearers will be DJ Puckett, Ronald Puckett and Afton Puckett. The Rev. Dean Presnell will be officiating the service. Music will be under the direction of Tammy Murray. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service.
