United Way of East Tennessee Highlands is bringing together area non-profits, community leaders, and area business leaders to kick off their annual Week of Caring.
The breakfast and impact project will take place at Hands On Discovery Center on Suncrest Drive in Gray, Tennessee on Monday, June 14, 2021, at 8:30 am.
“This is a great chance for everyone to really get together and get energized about helping those organizations that help others all year long. It also gives a chance for our business volunteers to get a glimpse of what kind of impact our non-profit partners are making in the community.” Says CEO/President of United Way of East Tennessee Highlands Leslie Salling.
Following breakfast, everyone will get to work making the outside of a regional favorite, picture perfect. Volunteers spend their morning doing landscaping work around the Discovery Center to celebrate the week of impact projects in the community.
United Way of East TN Highlands will host a variety of projects at area non-profits throughout the week including STEAM projects, decorating, painting, packing food backpacks for the food insecure children in our region.
“We are grateful that our area businesses are so devoted to our community not only with their financial support but also with their willingness to volunteer their time. We love this event each year because it really shows what wonderful things we can accomplish when we all work together.” Salling said.
Participating businesses include Blackburn Childers and Steagall, Bank of Tennessee, Snap-on Tools, AT&T, Brightridge, First Horizon Bank, and others.
