Joy Renee Cannon Shipley, 51, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2021, at her home.
Joy was born on November 4, 1969. She was the daughter of the late Michael Joe Cannon.
Joy was a homemaker.
In addition to her Dad, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, William “Bill” and Mary Hopson and Harley and Hazel Cannon.
Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Brenda McClure; two daughters, Reva (Kyle) Hicks and Melody Daugherty; her brother, Anthony (Tessa) Cannon; her grandchildren, Cloe, Tobias, Weston Hicks, Sarah and Shannon Sargent; a nephew, Gabriel Cannon; a very special aunt and uncle, Sue and Mike Fair; her special friend and life partner, Jackie Ray and the Ray family; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A remembrance service will be held at a later date. It was Joy’s wish to be cremated.
