Charlotte Sue Norris, 79, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 22, 2021, from the Hillview Health and Rehab Center of Elizabethton. Charlotte was born in Hampton, Tenn., to the late Arthur and Nettie Johnson Townsend Norris. In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnny Norris Sr.; two sisters, Jean Glover and Betty Cravens; and a brother, Bill Townsend.
Charlotte had served as an activity director in the Healthcare Community and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She loved playing Bingo, but most of all, she enjoyed helping others in need and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish Charlotte’s memory include two daughters, Nadine Jackson and Tabetha Norris, both of Elizabethton; two sons, Johnny Norris Jr. of Johnson City and Wilburn Lee Norris of Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Antonia “Toni” Walker, Jacob Norris, Steven Norris, Gordon Welch IV and Billie Fox. Several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, members of her church family and cousins also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Charlotte Sue Norris will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, July 26, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Kenny Lethcoe and Pastor Dennis Wilson officiating. Music will be under the direction of Billie Fox. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, in the John Whitehead Cemetery in Hampton, Tenn. Active pallbearers will be Steven Norris, Jacob Norris, Josh “Paco” Walker, Lonnie Freeman, Keith Trivette and Brian Glover. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Glover, Bill McKinney, Frankie Nance, Jimmy Glover, Edward Cravens, William Townsend and Gordon Welch IV.
