Mary Alice Manning Bartlett, 92, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at her residence. A native of Cattaraugus, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late William Warren Warner Manning and Alice Marion Easton Manning.
Mary was a supervisor for a clothing factory. She was a member of Unaka Baptist Church in the Stoney Creek community.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Mr. Donald Leigh Bartlett Sr.; son, Jon Bartlett; two daughters, Cherryl Bartlett and Susan Bartlett; granddaughter, Melissa Bartlett; sister-in-law, Betty Houghton; and son-in-law, Dennis Hill.
Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Ralph Manning of New York; four sons, Donald Bartlett Jr. and wife Janice of South Dayton, N.Y., Daniel Bartlett and wife Rachelle of Blue Springs, Mo., Mark Bartlett and wife Lynn of Independence, Mo., and Jose Flores Bartlett of Elizabethton, Tenn.; two daughters, Patricia Hill of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Penny Bartlett of Reston, Va.; and 15 grandchildren, Yolanda Wray, Billy Jo Garret, Bethany Hills Grois, Mary Hills Odrzywolaski, Steven Bartlett, Wendy Bartlett, Donnie Bartlett, Adam Bartlett, Jennifer Bartlett, Travis Bartlett, David Bartlett, Cathy Jenkins, Jennifer Bartlett, Brittany Bartlett and Melanie Healey. Twenty great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service for Mary Alice Manning Bartlett will be conducted at 6 p.m. Monday, August 16, at Unaka Baptist Church, Stoney Creek, with Pastor Troy Davis officiating. Music will be under the direction of the church. The family will receive friends between the hours of 5 and 6 p.m. Monday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, in the Wilson Cemetery, Stoney Creek Community. Active pallbearers will be Mark Bartlett, Dan Bartlett, Adam Bartlett, Josh Blevins, Gary Ashline and Kevin McKee. Honorary pallbearers are Don Bartlett Jr., Jose Bartlett and Gary Arnold. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the church at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Unaka Baptist Church Building Fund, 1598 Highway 91, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
