Niswonger Children’s Hospital ‘BUCS for Kids’… ETSU Athletics partners with Food City and WJHL

ABINGDON, VA – ETSU Athletics, Food City, and WJHL News Channel 11 are partnering up to host the BUCS for Kids fundraising campaign in support of Niswonger Children’s Hospital. The event will take place from 10 am until 2 pm on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Food City locations in Johnson City (S. Roan St., N State of Franklin Rd, and Boones Creek), Jonesborough, and Gray.

“ETSU Athletics is thrilled to support Niswonger Children’s Hospital through the ‘Bucs for Kids’ community service project. Our friends at Food City always go above and beyond for this region and we are honored to partner with them and WJHL on this wonderful project,” said Scott Carter, ETSU director of athletics.

ETSU coaches, athletes, cheerleaders, dance team, and Bucky will be volunteering their time and talents to bag groceries and greet customers at participating Food City locations. Shoppers can contribute (any amount) to Niswonger Children’s Hospital at the checkout, and it will be conveniently added to their grocery total.

100% of the donations collected will benefit Niswonger Children’s Hospital in Johnson City, TN.

“Food City is dedicated to the customers and communities we serve and we’re extremely proud to partner with WJHL and ETSU to raise funds to benefit such a worthy organization,” said Steven C. Smith, Food City president and chief executive officer.

FREE Buccaneer football schedule posters will also be available and tickets for the upcoming football season will be available for purchase at the front office of participating Food City locations.
