Christine Hatley Payne, of the Little Milligan Community of Butler, Tenn., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was 92 years young. She was a daughter of the late Alvin and Minnie Arnold Hatley and was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Payne, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Missy Payne; two grandsons, Justin (Amanda) Payne and Jamie (Paulette) Payne; one great-granddaughter, Maleah; two great-grandsons, Jackson and Andrew; and one sister, Dorothy Pearson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service to honor the memory of Christine Hatley Payne will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 21, in the Lakeview Cemetery in Little Milligan. Active pallbearers will be chosen from family. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Saturday.
