James C. Cannon, 76, of Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was the son of the late William Lewis Cannon and Bonnie Ruth Ward Cannon and was born on June 9, 1945. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Cannon, and a granddaughter, Tosha Johnson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Lillie Cannon of Elizabethton; four daughters, Deanna Tolley (Brian) of Elizabethton, Jennifer Kane (Jason) of Abingdon, Md., Tammy Hughes (Randall) of Roan Mountain and Christy Cannon of Elizabethton; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; and four siblings, Brenda Collins (Joe), Jerry Cannon (Vickie), Sandra Grindstaff (Benny) and Ronnie Cannon, all of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
