George Ramey, 85, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at his residence. He was born November 11, 1935 in Appalachia, Va., to the late Bascum and Esther Coomer Ramey. He had lived in Tennessee for a number of years.
George was retired from manufacturing and was a Pentecostal Pastor. He loved the fellowship of family and friends. He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting, also trading and yard sales.
George served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Berlin, Germany and was a guard of Rudolph Hess while he was in prison.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Peters Ramey, and family.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 26, in the Lyons Cemetery with Preacher John Peters officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website, www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
