With the game on the line, it made obvious sense to go to the one who had carried you to the place that a win was within reach.
The Unaka Lady Rangers did just that when they put the game on the back of Lyndie Ramsey and Ramsey didn’t let her team down as she drained the game-winner in lifting Unaka over Dobyns-Bennett 45-43.
It wasn’t looking too promising in the first half for the Lady Rangers as the Lady Indians took advantage of Unaka’s second-period inability to score as D-B took a 24-11 lead to the break after the Lady Rangers managed only one point in the second quarter.
Whatever Coach Kenneth Chambers said to his team at the break turned the team around as the Lady Rangers came out of the locker room and outscored D-B 17-4 in the third quarter to even the score at 28-28 heading into the final period of play.
Ramsey accounted for 12 of the 17 points in the quarter and 19 of the 28 through the first 24 minutes of play.
With the game in the balance, Ramsey added 10 more in the fourth to push her Lady Rangers to the win ending the night with a game-high 29 points.
Macy Ensor also had a big night in aiding in the victory as she tossed in 11 points.
Mailey Guy added three points with Julie Simerly and Kiki Forney adding a free throw apiece.
Caroline Hill paced the Lady Indians with a team-high 17 points in the loss.
