With the 2021 season winding down as the TSSAA BlueCross Bowl State Semifinals play out this weekend, Region 1 1-A has released its list of superlatives for the recently completed season.
The Most Valuable Player for the year was Cloudland’s Seth Birchfield who rushed for 2,617 yards to date with 41 touchdowns and 52 tackles on defense and still counting with Friday night’s contest yet to be added.
Offensive Lineman of the Year was presented to Cloudland’s Jake Isaacs who recorded 29 pancake blocks on the season to date.
Unaka Ranger receiver Devin Ramsey took home the Receiver of the Year award. Ramsey had 85 receptions covering 1,448 yards with 18 total touchdowns.
The Defensive Back of the Year went to Cloudland’s Caleb Sluder who had 37 tackles and six interceptions to earn the honor.
The Coach of the Year went to first-year head coach Zac Benfield of Cloudland who has led his team to a 12-1 record heading into Friday night’s TSSAA State Semifinal game against South Pittsburg.

North Greene

Cosby
