The Carter County Democratic Women will have their annual holiday gathering on Friday, Dec. 10, at the First Presbyterian Church, 119 W. F St. (across from T.A. Dugger Junior High School).
All vaccinated Democrats are invited to attend and enjoy some tasty turkey and yummy ham.
Guests are asked to bring their favorite side dish to share. The meal will be served at 5:30 p.m.
In light of the new COVID variant Omicron, a few extra precautions will be taken to keep the vulnerable safe. Tables will be set up to allow distance between groups, and mask wearing when you are not eating or speaking is recommended.
Take-out containers will be available for those wishing to attend but not eat there, and members are also welcomed to bring your own meal containers from home!
The silent auction table will be set up and open for bids by 6 p.m., and anyone who wins a bid but is unable to stay to the end will be contacted about their item on Saturday!
The Carter County Democratic Women’s Club will be nominating the existing officers for a second year, but nominations from the floor will be permitted. The installation will take place at 5:45 p.m., with Ramon Sanchez-Vinas addressing the group before the meal begins.
Those who are considering running for office as a Democrat are invited to attend and get to know the many Democrats who make up these two organizations in Carter County.
