Edward Lewis Greene of Elizabethton, Tennessee passed away at Hermitage Nursing Home on Thursday, December 16, 2021, after a long illness. He was born in Roan Mountain, Tennessee to the late Truman and Rowena Elliott Greene on January 6, 1930. He moved to Hammond, Indiana and worked at Bethlehem Steel until 1966. He moved back to Tennessee and worked for Daniel Construction at various locations. His last location was Carrolton, Georgia, where he worked for many years.

Edward was a kind, gentle and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to all he came in contact with. He was a member of Burbank Freewill Baptist Church for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Jacquelyn Carter Greene, his second wife, Maxine Glover Greene, a sister, Wilma Wantz, a granddaughter, Jada Sanderlin and a great-granddaughter, Kendra Ollis.

He is survived by his five daughters, Donna Henderson, Denell Lipps and husband Eddie, Rhonda Street and husband Tommy, Mary Jo Highsmith and Cathy Lambert and her partner, Odell Cable; his sisters, Lola Mae Hughes and husband Donald, Phyllis Roberts and husband Douglas; grandchildren, Kristie Chausse, David Blevins, Shawn Stanley and Alexis Lipps; great-grandchildren, Lucas Chausse, Colby Chausse, Haley Nidiffer, Amelia Grindstaff and Kenlee Blevins.

On behalf of the family we would like to thank Hermitage Nursing Home and Amedisys Hospice for the kindness and loving care given to Edward.

A memorial service will be held at Burbank Freewill Baptist Church at a later date.
