First Baptist
First Baptist Church, Elizabethton, will have a Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m. Dec. 24. The public is invited to join the congregation in a service of praise and communion.
First United Methodist
A special Christmas Eve service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Elizabethton.
The Rev. Ray Amos is pastor.
First Christian
A Christmas candlelight service will be held at First Christian Church, Elizabethton, Friday, Dec. 24, at 11:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
First Christian will have an in-person service Sunday at 9:45 a.m. as well as a live radio broadcast in the church parking lot on 90.5 FM at 9:45 a.m. The service will be posted to Facebook at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Also, a weekly Bible study will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday.
St. Thomas Episcopal
St. Thomas Episcopal Church, located in Elizabethton’s Old Town across from the Carter County Courthouse, will have a Christmas Midnight Mass Celebration Friday, Dec. 24.
Doors will open at 10 p.m., and the service will begin at 11 p.m. Moments after midnight the congregation, celebrating the Christmas story from the Bible, will join in Holy Communion, sing Christmas music, and gather in procession to the street outside the church, where they will proclaim in song “Go Tell It On the Mountain that Jesus Christ Is Born.”
Father Timothy Holder, Priest and Pastor at St. Thomas, invites the public to attend, especially those from surrounding counties, the Latino community in Northeast Tennessee, as well as musicians and lovers of Appalachia music.
CDC protocols are observed for everyone’s safety and well-being. This include vaccines and booster, masking, and site-ventilation. Also, testing is recommended.
The service will be live-streamed on the church’s Facebook.
Grace Baptist
A Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, at Grace Baptist Church. The congregation invites the public to join them in celebrating the Birth of Jesus during this special worship service, where the Lord’s Supper will be served and the Word of God preached.
Memorial Presbyterian
A Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at Memorial Presbyterian Church, 100 E. F St., Elizabethton, at 6 p.m. Friday.
The congregation invites the public to celebrate the birth of Christ and the coming of a Savior. It will be a family evening of carols, special music and scripture ending with a hymn sung by candlelight as we pass the light. Since it is a family event, no nursery will be provided.
First Presbyterian
First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton, will have both an in-person and online service Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service.
The pastor, the Rev. Dr. Brian Wyatt, will present a message based on the scripture Isa. 9: 1-7.
Adult Forum, Wednesday Meditation and Thursdays with Jesus will all meet online this week.
The youth will meet in person.
