According to Washington County Sheriff Keith Sexton, human remains found in July 2020 off of Dry Creek Road in Jonesborough have been identified. The skeletal remains of an unidentified female were located on July 9, 2020, in a very remote, wooded area off of Dry Creek Road. By using D.N.A. comparison the remains have been identified as 41-year-old Brandy Shore of Asheville, N.C. Investigators believe Shore died while camping in the area where the remains were located. Investigators traveled to North Carolina in 2020 when the remains were located and spoke with the family and obtained D.N.A. for comparison. No foul play is suspected at this time.
