Buddy Mack Wiseman, 70, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Hermitage Health Center after an extended illness. He was born August 24, 1951 in Carter County to the late Ben and Vera Ward Wiseman.
Buddy was a graduate of Hampton High School and was retired from Snap-On Tools after 34 years of service. He had served in the Tennessee National Guard.
Buddy loved gospel music and playing his guitar and mandolin. He sang with the Sounds of Victory. Buddy attended Sunset Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Proffitt, and three brothers, Hayden, Carroll and Larry Wiseman.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Lenora Hyder Wiseman; two daughters, Kimberly (Mike) Carr, Bluff City, and Michelle (Jeff) Crumley, Butler; a son, Michael (Sandra) Moody, Mountain City; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Judy Harmon, Sugar Grove, N.C.; one brother, Howell (Jackie) Wiseman, Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews; and his sidekick, Prince.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 23, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Terry Richardson officiating. Music will be provided by the Sounds of Victory. Interment will follow in the Whitehead Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Michael Moody, Dustin Crumley, Corey Crumley, Colton Crumley, Dakota Crumley and Ryan Crumley. Honorary pallbearers will be Howell Wiseman, Bea Crowe, Mike Carr, Jeff Crumley and the Sunset Free Will Baptist Church Family. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Amedisys Hospice in Elizabethton, especially Keith and Chris. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests everyone to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
