Barbara Ann Mignogna Hurst, 79, of Elizabethton, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at her home.
She was a native of Rosedale, Long Island, N.Y., and a daughter of the late Victor and Frances Drahos Mignogna.
Barbara was a good woman, loving wife, caring mother, and amazing sister. She had a gift for healing, working as an LPN before finding her passion for massage therapy. She owned and operated Burnsville Therapeutic Massage in Burnsville, N.C., for over 25 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, DeWitt Alexander Hurst Jr.; son, Wayne Michael Oncin; and siblings, Ferdinand Mignogna and Delores Wagner.
Those missing her include daughters, Nicole Diez and husband Jose, and Denise Chan; siblings, Deborah Gardner and husband Gary, and Robert Mignogna and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Daniel Diez, Gabriel Diez, Corrine Miller and husband Wilson, and Alexis Chan; several nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Roxy.
A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 7, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section), 215 Heroes Drive. Those attending are asked to gather at the cemetery gate by 1:50 p.m. to go in procession to the committal shelter. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.morrisbaker.com
