Rev. Danny Carroll Blevins, 56, Roan Mountain, went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Bristol Regional Hospital. He was born March 31, 1965 in Carter County.
Danny was a graduate of Cloudland High School, East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Arts & Science Degree, and Tusculum University with a Master’s Degree in Education. He was a retired school teacher in Carter County, having taught at Cloudland High School for 30 years.
Danny had served as a minister since 2008, having pastored several churches in the area. He was a member of the Toe River Free Will Baptist Association and attended Hopson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Danny was a Christian, and loved the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Blevins, and a brother, Denver Blevins.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Creola Rhinehart Blevins; a daughter, Amanda Christman and husband Shawn; two grandchildren, Brayden and Izabella Christman; his mother, Gladys Simerly Blevins; two brothers, Rev. Richard Blevins and wife Wanda and Douglas Blevins and wife Tina; and a sister-in-law, Carol Blevins. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Private funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 14, with Rev. Gene Carver officiating. Interment will be in the Johnson-Roan View Cemetery with Ministers Gene Carver, Bill Highsmith and Richard Blevins officiating. Active pallbearers will be Bill Highsmith, George Wayne Baker, Jeff Powell, Lucky Rhinehart, Jason Morgan, Robbie Turbyfill, Darrell Turbyfill and Shawn Christman.
