PENSACOLA, Fla. — Floyd Aroline “Meatball” Cornett, 83, of Pensacola, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022. He was born on December 12, 1938 in Elizabethton, Tenn., to the late Fredrick Charles and Annie Amelia Hinkle Cornett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Junior, Albert, Charles, Howard and Billy Cornett; one sister, Emma Jean Cornett Harmon; and by several nieces, nephews and great-nephews.
Floyd worked at Chemstrand/Monsanto until he retired in 1994. He was then employed at Quest Diagnostics for 23 years until he retired in May of 2021.
Floyd was an avid Tennessee Vols fan.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gloria Fay Cornett; his children, Tammy (Craig) Ketterman, Donna Lombardi and Gary Durden; three grandchildren, Chuckie Ketterman, Tiffany Durden and Alex (Rebecca) Durden; two great-grandchildren, Alaska and Ellis; two sisters, Earlene Phillips and Joyce (Jeff) Henson. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 14, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive family and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at the funeral home. You may express condolences online at www.fcfhs.com.
