Mr. and Mrs. Ron Buckles celebrate 50th anniversary

Rondald “Ron” and Carol Kerr Buckles were married in Hopewell, Va., on March 18, 1972. At the time Ron and Carol were finishing up at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Ron was from eastern Tennessee (Elizabethton) and Carol grew up in Hopewell.
Most of their married life was spent in California where they had two sons, Andrew and Simon. Later, Ron got his Master’s degree then worked in antenna test and design. Carol became the library collections manager at FIDM’s L.A. campus.
In 2007, Ron and Carol moved to Tidewater, Va., to be near family. Presently they are happily retired in Newport News, traveling and helping raise their granddaughter Zoe.
