Elizabethton is welcoming a new business to the historic downtown area, as Lantern Realty and Development opens.
Lantern, a realty and development company based in North Carolina, opened its first location in the state of Tennessee. With the addition of the Elizabethton location, the company now has nine locations across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Lantern partner Ashley Ferlauto was raised in Elizabethton and found her way back home through the company.
“I was actually born and raised in Elizabethton and have just moved back from the Charlotte area. I just love this company so much, that I asked if we could open a location here, and here we are,” she said.
Ferlauto said the Elizabethton office opened its doors on March 1, with a bigger celebration coming in early April.
“I had heard that this space in downtown was available, so after checking in on it we were lucky enough to lease it from the owner. It took a few weeks for everything to get established with this location, but the time and effort was worth it,” Ferlauto said.
One thing that Lantern is hoping to bring to Elizabethton is a focus in community involvement, something the company has already began to do.
“I am so excited to be able to serve the people of Elizabethton,” Ferlauto said. “I am from here, and while I did not expect to be back home so soon, I am so happy to return to Elizabethton. We have begun to attend community events over the past month, and we hope to do even more of that as the year progresses.”
Lantern is planning a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the new location at 416 East Elk Avenue on April 6 at 10 a.m.
Ferlauto said anyone who is interested in learning more about the company or becoming involved with Lantern should visit the location during the ribbon-cutting ceremony or set up a private meeting by calling the company at (980) 333-8085.
