April events at the Bonnie Kate

Nowhere Valley will perform at the historic Bonnie Kate Theatre in downtown Elizabethton Saturday, April 2, from 7 to 9 p.m.
The group will be showcasing original songs about the region, in addition to some of their regular covers. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Jennifer Gillenwater, Sam and Ginger Dalton play old-tyme, bluegrass, pop, and original folk music.
Other upcoming events include:
— APRIL 5, The JC Jazz Collective will play from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Bonnie Kate, and will host a jazz jam for the last hour. Tickets are $10 at the door until 9 p.m., then free admission for the jam.
This group plays a lot of different configurations and styles, but attendees can count on some funky jazz and cool vocals. They were a big hit closing out the Thursday night of the Johnson City Jazz Festival.
Members of the group include Ashley Fuqua, vocals, Parker Lewis, trumpet, Alex Leonard, trumpet, TJ West, guitar, Josh Roberts, bass, and Jason Carpenter, drums.
— APRIL 9, there will be a celebration of the arts in downtown Elizabethton and Carter County from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be visual artists, live music, dancers, poets, storytellers, and more.
The event will consist of a spring art walk.
— APRIL 12, the Wolf Hills Jazz Quartet will beat the Bonnie Kate from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $10.
The Wolf Hills Jazz Quartet will play from 7:30 to 9 p.m., then host a jazz jam for the last hour. Free admission after 9 p.m.
The Abingdon-based band is led by saxophonist and prolific composer Tom Peterson. Other members of the group are Ernie Braganza, guitar, Ed Davis, upright bass, and Joe Pendergast, drums.
— APRIL 19, The Diamonds will play from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Bonnie Kate Theater, then host a jazz jam for the last hour. Tickets ate $10 until 9 p.m., then free admission for the last hour.
Members of the group include Sloan Hill, trumpet and vocals, Morissa Diamond, vocals and keyboard, Glenn Diamond, upright bass, and Eddie Dalton, drums.
— APRIL 26, Saxophonoist, flutist Will Boyd will bring his band to the Bonnie Bate, playing from 7:30 to 9 p.m. He then will host a jazz jam for the last hour. Tickets are $10 at the door until 9 p.m, then free admission for the jam.
Playing with Boyd will be Kenneth Brown, drums, Taber Gable, keyboards, and David Becher, upright bass.
— APRIL 29, join some old friends as they entertain with their fun original songs and some of their favorite covers. Carrie Maggard, Rich McDougal & friends come together to play music.
