A late afternoon accident in front of Taco John’s at the intersection of Broad and North Sycamore Streets sent two women to the hospital and stalled traffic in the eastbound lanes of Broad Street.
The Elizabethton Police Department along with the Elizabethton Fire Department responded to the accident and are investigating the incident.
The collision dislodged a log in the back of the gray Ranger when the truck flipped, sending the log into a nearby fence.
One of the injured was the driver of a gray Nissan Rogue while the other female was the middle passenger of a gray Ford Ranger. Officials said the injuries did not appear life-threatening. The driver and another passenger in the pickup truck were shaken but did not require transportation to the hospital after being checked out by the Carter County EMS.
