The City of Elizabethton offices will be closed Friday, April 15, for the observance of Good Friday.
Due to the closure, garbage collection for the week has been altered. Monday through Thursday will be collected on schedule with Friday’s collections being picked up on Thursday.
Also, offices at the Carter County Courthouse will be closed Friday because of Good Friday.
State offices will be closed Friday as Tennessee is one of 10 states in the United States which observes Good Friday as a state holiday.
Good Friday is not a federal holiday, which means post offices and most government offices will be open Friday.
