Kenneth Ray Simerly, 73, Hampton, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022, at his residence. He was born May 26, 1948 in Carter County to the late Otis Simerly Sr. and Zella Street Simerly Bailey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David Bailey and Otis Simerly.
In earlier years Kenneth was a construction worker. He was a member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Connie Sue Bailey; two brothers, Darryl Bailey and wife Wilma Kay and Edward Bailey; several nieces and nephews; and his uncles and aunt, Roy Miller, June Heaton, Vera Collins and Paris Street. Several cousins also survive.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, in the Cochran Cemetery with his brother, Darryl Bailey, officiating. Interment will follow the service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of the Neighborhood Service Center.
