The East Tennessee Christian Home & Academy (ETCHA) is hosting a Bluegrass and Gospel Barbecue Bash in an effort to raise awareness and funds.
The organization has been unable to host its benefit dinner and silent auction for the past two years due to the pandemic. So this year, the fundraising efforts are focused on this new event, which takes place at 4 pm. May 14 at Central Community Christian Church, 137 Hopson Road in Johnson City. Performers will include Hollow Ground and Sacred Harmony.
“This is going to be a fun event to give back to our community and raise awareness about this ministry,” said Ron Marvel,  ETCHA director. “We are so blessed to have these groups give of their time.”
A fundraising goal of $75,000 has been established by ETCHA as part of its 75th Anniversary of serving the community.
Marvel added that even if people cannot attend the event, donations can still be made to help the home.
“If people can’t attend, any donations big or small can make a big difference to this ministry,” Marvel said. “We are hoping to go back to our more traditional benefit dinner next year.”
For more information or to make donations, Marvel can be reached at 423-542-4423 or 423-895-0122.
