Most people may know that we have seen a record amount of fake news over the last five years. For example, it was incorrectly reported in the news that President Trump had been helped by Russia to win his election. This was proven to be fake news. Most people don’t know fake news has been around a long time. Fake news helped get abortion legalized in 1973.
In January pro-choice people proudly celebrate 49 years of legalized abortion and pro-lifers mourn the loss of over 60 million unborn babies. If you say people aren’t proud of and celebrate abortion you must have missed the 2016 Democratic National Convention (DNC). During the DNC the president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, Mrs. Hogue, proudly shouted out about her abortion to a cheering crowd and loud applause. The Democrat party celebrates abortion and wants taxpayer funding for abortion. That is why I believe the late Baptist Pastor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would today be a Republican even though most blacks vote Democrat. King Jr. would have been against taxpayer funding of abortion and same-sex marriage that Obama and Biden helped get approved. I liked President Kennedy’s quote, “Ask not what your country can do for you but ask what you can do for your country.” Today most young Democrats disagree with Kennedy and want free stuff over freedom. President Kennedy was for gun rights while Biden wants to take guns. The Democrat party has changed for the worse from President Kennedy, who wanted to put a man on the moon, to today President Biden, who wants to put a man in the women’s bathroom!
Before 1973’s Roe v. Wade decision, the unborn baby was called a “lump of cells.” After the ultrasound we know this isn’t true but is fake news. Over 90 percent of women who see their baby’s ultrasound now have their baby. Dr. Bernard Natharson “gave 5,000 to 10,000 deaths a year” as the current figure of deaths from back alley abortions and the media used that number to promote abortion legalization as a way to stop these deaths. Natharson after coming to Jesus and his opposition to abortion said, “I knew the figures were totally false (fake news) but they were useful.” The true number was less than 300 deaths from illegal abortion because of penicillin. In 1995 Norma McCorvey, the “Jane Roe” of Roe v. Wade, became a supporter of the right to life of unborn children. McCorvey admitted that her pregnancy wasn’t the product of a rape as she had told the U.S. Supreme Court. Roe v. Wade had been affected by and based on lies and fake news. I hope the U.S. Supreme Court will overturn Roe v. Wade and return the decision to each state. Today if you want the truth you won’t find it on social media or the major media. The only place you will find truth is in the Bible. The Bible is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The Bible contains the best news ever, the good news of Jesus! The Bible is true news! Many don’t know that today the number one killer of pregnant women is homicide. Abortion has devalued life so much that many men murder their pregnant girlfriend. The Bible says “choose life” so Christians support the adoption option. I thank the Elizabethton Star for being for life and printing my letters against abortion for 25 years. I thank Christians like Angie Odom in Elizabethton who show compassion to women in unplanned pregnancies, while telling the truth that Jesus loves them and died for them and their life has meaning and value and so does their child’s life. After 49 years abortion is still unnecessary, unhealthy, unsafe, unfair and ungodly. Abortion is the unchoice! Choose Jesus and let Jesus make your other choices. No child is unwanted because Jesus wants and loves them all!
