2022 Roan Groan… Riders battle to the top of the Roan as part of Carter County Omnium

The Carter County Omnium got underway Saturday morning with the road race portion of the Omnium better known as the Roan Groan.
This points stage race combines a major climbing road race with a short time trial and a criterium (closed-circuit race). For participants, it has honed their form so the next year they have competed in the Tour de France and the Tour of California, or become National Champions.
The Pro 1-2 field peddled a total of 80 miles and a total of 9747′ of climbing while the Elite Masters, Women Pro 1/2, and Category 3s completed the 55-mile course with a total of 7020′ of climbing.
Other categories did 30 miles and 4040′ of climbing.
