Firefly 5K Run/Walk set for Friday, July 1 in downtown

The Firefly 5K Run/Walk, sponsored by Main Street Elizabethton, is scheduled for Friday, July 1, at 8 p.m. in downtown Elizabethton. The second annual event is an evening run/walk starting and ending in the Covered Bridge Park and will benefit Main Street Elizabethton and Downtown Elizabethton revitalization efforts.
The course will also include part of the Tweetsie Trail, the segment of the trail along the old Stateline Road and back to S. Pine St., to E. F St., Armed Forces Drive, Sycamore St., Riverside Drive and back to the Covered Bridge.
Already, 155 athletes have registered for the event.
