On Thursday, June 23, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested James Saylor, 43, of Jonesborough, and charged him with methamphetamine possession, introduction of contraband into a penal facility, resisting arrest and identity theft.
At approximately 3:34 a.m., officers responded to the area of Upper Class Suites on College Heights Road on a complaint of a subject rummaging through a dumpster. Officers made contact with a male subject, later identified as Saylor, who gave officers a false name. Officers attempted to take Saylor into custody and Saylor resisted arrest. While being booked into the Washington County Jail, a search of Saylor revealed a baggie of methamphetamine on his person.
Saylor is being held on a $21,000 bond with an arraignment set on June 24 at 1:30 p.m. in Washington County General Sessions Court.
