Fireworks prohibited in city without permit

With the July 4th holiday coming, Elizabethton Police Chief Jason Shaw reminds city residents that fireworks are prohibited within the city limits without a special permit.
Thus far, Chief Shaw said three permits have been issued for fireworks displays this weekend.
The City of Elizabethton will have fireworks downtown from the Elk Avenue Bridge Saturday night, July 2. Southside Christian Church on Southside Road will have a display Sunday night, July 3. Monday, July 4th, Boyd Sports will have a fireworks display at the conclusion of the River Riders baseball game at Joe O’Brien Field.
