Mary P. Ingram, 81, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 18, 2022. She was born in Carter County on April 18, 1941.
Mary was full of love and laughter and had a smile and spirit you simply couldn’t forget. She showed love to everyone she met and welcomed anyone with kindness and open arms. Her sweet face and gentle personality has impacted many lives in her 81 years.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, family dog, and talking to her friends, especially her aunt Jean Glover and family (Seymour), with whom she shared a special bond. We would like to show special recognition to two very important men: Michael Whitehead and Jim Foster Jr. (Greeneville). She thought of them as her sons and held them very close to her heart. We would also like to give a special thank you to all of our wonderful neighbors and her special friends, Louise, Carmen and Terry Whitehead, Merle and Wilma Townsend, Lori Swift-Graham (Greeneville), Dorothy Ball and family (Greeneville), and Jean Glover and family (Seymour), for all of the love, help, and support they have shown to all of us.
Mary was preceded in death by her son, Michael Ingram; her parents, Margaret and Guy Poarch; and her mother and father-in-law, Roby Ingram and Betsy Hardin.
Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Thomas Ingram; her granddaughter, Alexis Ward; her sister, Shirlee Shankle; her nephew, Chris Shankle; her niece, Reagan Shankle; her sister-in-law, Frankie Morrell; her aunt, Jean Glover; her cousins, Kim and Pam Glover; as well as her family dog, Lady.
Memorial Funeral Chapel served the Ingram family.
