It is by decree of the Duke and Duchess of the fair town of Faire Crossing that you are formally invited to their Summer Masquerade! Their Graces so enjoyed last year’s midsummer festivities they decided to continue the tradition. This year they are holding a banquet to celebrate the occasion and have found a most splendid location at the Andrew Johnson House, located in nearby Greeneville, on August the 13th, Year of the Lord 2022.
The Duke and Duchess have already commissioned special outfits for the occasion and invite everyone to come wearing their favorite masquerade ball garb — adults and children both! Music shall be curated and provided by Captain Billy Bones, enlisted especially for this occasion for his wide variety of tunes from both the Olde World and the New, and there shall be much dancing through the night!
While their Graces will welcome guests starting no earlier than 6:30 p.m., dinner shall be served at 7 of the clock. There shall be dishes of both beast and vegetable to accommodate a variety of tastes among the guests.
In addition to fabulous food, music, and dancing, the Duchess has also planned extraordinary pageantry from the court of Henry VIII — surely to be a play not to be missed!
The festivities shall end at 10:30 in the evening, when the Duke and Duchess, along with their court, will bid everyone a happy farewell until next time!
Lori and I will be in attendance as we are always looking for new, adventurous, and, oftentimes, different out-of-the-ordinary and extraordinary events in our great area, so, on Saturday, the 13th, we will be doing just that! Next week we will tell you all about it!
