The Second Annual Slaglefest Music and Art Festival will be held the weekend of Sept. 17-18 at the Yoga Farm, 265 Slagle Road. Activities on Saturday will begin at 12 noon and on Sunday at 5 p.m.
The event is just a short distance from Slagle’s Pasture, which for decades hosted yearly bluegrass festivals, and promoters of Slaglefest say that is where their festival got its name.
Slaglefest will feature local musicians and artists. Promoters of the event said they have several goals for the festival, among them to highlight the wealth of talent in Northeast Tennessee, and provide an opportunity for regional artists and craftsmen to showcase their work. They say the festival will be kid-friendly, pet friendly, with a small kids play zone. Camping will be available on the site and there will be vendors providing food and drinks.
