Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
BY TREVOR WAYCASTER
Ah yes football season is upon us! You may be wondering how does Jesus and football go together. Well, ask yourself this: How many times have you scheduled your life events around football games? How often do you miss games? How well do you know your favorite teams roster, stats, schedule, and accomplishments of the team?
When we cheer for our favorite teams we are all in fired up. But how often do we do the same thing for God? How often do we move our schedule around to make time for God? Do you find yourself saying I’ll get to my prayer closet when I get time or I’ll study if I get time.  We make time for our favorite team! How many times are we too tired for church, but we can stay up late to watch the game just to see the outcome or because we are dedicated fans. What if we had as much knowledge of the Bible as we did our favorite team! How much better would the world be if we were fired up for God and all in to do his work and share the gospel!
The Bible tells us in Revelations 3:16 “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth.” We as Christians can’t be lukewarm and only do what God ask us to do when it is convenient for us. We have got to make time to get in our prayer closet and make him number one. We are so willing to make sacrifices to please our flesh, but not the father. We feel like we can make a difference in a game by cheering or encouraging our team! I will close with this: What kind of difference can we make in the world, our spiritual growth, and our own lives plus the lives of others? I challenge you this week to spend time in your prayer closet wherever that may be.
We pray that you all have a great week. God bless you all!
