Schedule of activities at the Elizabethton Senior Center for the week of September 19-23:
The billiard room and fitness room are open and no appointments necessary.
Monday: Just Keep Movin’ — Cardio, Toning, Strength Building, 9-10 a.m.; “Intro into Fall Prevention” webinar. Join us at the Center for an educational webinar with Dr. Karon Uzzell-Bagget and Dr. Deborah Tuggle for an intoduction into Fall Prevention, 11 a.m.; Lunch — Chicken Tenders, 11 a.m.; Chair Yoga, 12:15-1:15 p.m., with Instructor, Shirley Gomillian, $3; Gentle-flow Yoga, 1:30-2:30 p.m., with Instructor, Carrie Maggard, $3.
Tuesday: FREE Hair Cuts with Bea Snyder, 8:30 a.m.; “How to Fall” webinar. If falling cannot be pevented, Regena Young, BSN, RN will teach you what you need to know aout falling safely, 11 a.m.; Lunch — Chili Dog, 11 a.m.; Line Dancing, 12-1 p.m., with Instructor, Sharon Pilk.
Wednesday: Just Keep Movin’ — Cardio, Toning, Strength Building, 9-10 a.m.; “Pet Related Fall Prevention” webinar, 11 a.m. Have you ever tripped over your pet? Dr. Wilhelm Walker and Dr. Tuggle will be here educating on what to do if you have a pet related fall!; Lunch — Pizza Casserole, 11 a.m.; Chair Yoga, 12:15-1:15 p.m., with Instructor, Shirley Gomillian, $3; Gentle-flow Yoga, 1:30-2:30 p.m., with Instructor, Carrie Maggard, $3.
Thursday: “Adaptive Equipment” — Dr. Erin Melhorn will be discussing the importance of adaptive equipment in relation to fall prevention and equipment that can help you prevent a possible fall, 11 a.m.; Lunch — Tuna Salad, 11 a.m.
Friday: Just Keep Movin’ — Cardio, Toning, Strength Building, 9-10 a.m.; Let’s Play Bingo, 10 a.m.; Let’s Play Bingo — Neal Bowes, Oasis Senior Advisor is back with fun and prizes while he hosts Bingo! Please join us, 10 a.m.; Lunch — Chicken Philly/Peppers and Onions, 11 a.m.; The Center closes at today at noon.
JOB OPPORTUNITY! The First TN Area Agency on Aging & Disability is hiring an Options Counselor at the Elizabethton Senior Center. Preferred Education: LPN, Bachelor’s in Social Work, Psychology, or related field. Will consider applicants with a minimum completion of two years at an accredited college and minimum of two years experience in social work or related field.
