Everything we need is in the closet

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

When you think of a walk-in closet, an image immediately comes to mind. You see shirts, blouses, dresses, and pants hung neatly on a closet rod. You see shoes lined up on shelves. Closets contain loads of important things, however we do not think of closets having everything we need. What we don’t see in our closets are the answers to all of life’s problems, but we need to take a closer look. If we look through the eye of faith, we will see that everything we could ever need is in our closet.
The Bible says in Matthew 6:6, “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” We are commanded to pray in secret in our closet. Jesus goes on to say that the Father that sees in secret will reward us openly before everyone. Our prayers will be made manifest and miracles will transpire. Do we really realize that everything we need is in the closet once we begin to communicate with our heavenly Father? Prayer is the most powerful thing we can do!
What your marriage needs is in your closet! What your children need is in the closet! What you need at your work is in the closet! If we would choose to be deliberate in our prayer life and spend time with our Father, we would find that everything we need is there. We need to shut the door on the things that distract us and speak directly with God. Our prayer closets are sitting vacant and our lives are often falling apart. I want to encourage you all to head to the closet, and you will soon find that your own closet has more than shirts, pants, and shoes. The Lord is waiting for each of us there.
