Deputies and investigators of the Carter County Sheriff’s Office responded to Happy Valley High School Thursday afternoon after school administrators received a report that a student had made threats to harm other students.
The incident was reported around 12:45 p.m. and Happy Valley High School was placed into a “soft lockdown” while officers investigated the reported threats.
The students involved in the incident were interviewed and a search was conducted but no weapons were found, according to Carter County Sheriff Mike Fraley.
“Some cell phones were seized as evidence to be reviewed and the investigation into this incident is continuing,” Fraley said.
Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
