Cove Creek Community Church of Roan Mountain will celebrate its 100th anniversary Sunday, Oct. 16, at 4 p.m. A special service will be held to commemorate the history of the church and give a charge for the future. There will be a reception full of snacks, historical videos, pictures, and exhibits to follow. All are welcome, especially anyone with familiar or historical ties to the church over the years. Also, those attending are asked to bring any photos or memorabilia of the church they may have. “We look forward to seeing you there,” said Lucas Hitechew, who is serving as interim pastor of the church.
