Elizabethton’s Estes named to The Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty class

Elizabethton City Manager Daniel Estes was recently named as a member of The Tri-Cities / Virginia Business Journal 40 Under Forty class as released in the December edition of the magazine. The award is a salute to the emerging business stars of the region.
Estes has served as the City Manager of Elizabethton for the last four years helping to lead the city through the COVID-19 pandemic and helping city staff successfully implement a variety of initiatives including the restoration of the Covered Bridge and the establishment of a Main Street program.
He also has helped the City of Elizabethton secure over $12 million in outside grant funding which has allowed for the kickstart of a variety of projects that will benefit the city.
Part of Estes’ responsibilities are to also provide the best information to the City Council to ensure they can act in an informed manner.
His outside-the-box thinking and strategic planning skills have helped to move Elizabethton forward during his time at the helm.
